October Surprise ? Still There's No Turning Back Now

Kong Sez:

    Your editors at the Chembio Update just sent me some interesting intelligence. It seems that Bob Chapman, a respected financial newsletter writer, believes that we may have an "October Surprise," maybe as early as September. So I looked into the matter and learned that Chapman's International Forecaster newsletter of May 20, 2009, discussed some surprising intelligence that supposedly came from within the United States State Department and various embassies:

"Some US embassies worldwide are being advised to purchase massive amounts of local currencies; enough to last them a year. Some embassies are being sent enormous amounts of US cash to purchase currencies from those govts, quietly. But not £'s. Inside the State Dept there is a sense of sadness & foreboding that 'something' is about to happen, unknown re a date--just that within 180 days, but could be 120-150 days."

    He then quotes another source who says that, "Panasonic has told their people to be back in Japan by Sept 09."

    Naturally this revelation sounds extremely exciting, especially since Dr. "B" has been saying something very similar, namely that he believes August through October of 2009 is likely to be a time of citizen unrest, thanks to increasing demands from the government.

    Upon checking out Mr. Chapman's revelation further, we learn that Harry Schultz, another respected newsletter writer, believes the crisis may be a "bank holiday." One link that quotes Mr. Shultz embroiders on this idea:

My HSL suspicion is that the elite plan another FDR style "bank holiday" of indefinite length, perhaps very soon, to let the insiders sort-out the bank mess which is getting more out of their control every day.*Insiders want/need to impose new bank rules. Widespread nationalization could result, already under way. It could also lead to a formal US$ devaluation, as FDR did by revaluing gold (& then confiscating it). But devalue against what? The euro? Doubtful. Gold? Maybe. Or vs. the IMF basket of currencies (which seems more likely)--& much in the news recently. Any kind of bank holiday will push the US$ lower, which may be a bonus benefit to their ongoing scenario of letting the $ fall. Such a fall would get the devaluation they want without having to declare it. In sum, the insiders want more bank & system control, fewer banks & a lower US$. A bank holiday would suit all their needs.

Obviously, U can't open safeboxes if the banks are closed, so plan accordingly. All this is speculation, but we have to go with what we've got, scraps of info that point to certain possibilities. In any case such a closure will, IMO, come sooner or later, as the worst of the embedded derivatives are still to be faced. We are years away from solving them because the controllers don't want to; their fingerprints are all over them.

PS: during the FDR bank holiday, thousands of banks never reopened; it was a face-saving way of shutting them down. I would guess the same would occur today; thousands have little or no net value, loaded with debt, bad mortgages.

PPS: A Bob Chapman subscriber reported overhearing 2 FEMA jacketed men talking to a police chief in Calif. They wanted to federalize the police across the US. They (govt) would be closing banks in late Aug, early Sept & that it will get ugly.” Prepare for worst case, as any good Boy or Girl Scout would do. J.

    Well, folks, this is all very interesting, and after further research, we discover that Mr. Chapman may have gotten a little carried away. Gary North, Ph.D., an economic historian, writes the following in his subscribers-only website:

I do not understand why a bank holiday is required. To accomplish what? There are no bank runs. There is no threat to the system. Depositors send checks from Bank A to Bank B. This is no way threatens the system. The same amount of money stays in the system.

Here is what has been happening. The assets of small busted banks get bought by big banks after the FDIC has absorbed the losses. What a bonanza for large banks! Why would they want to stop this process?

FDR's bank holiday lasted four days in 1933. There has never been the hint of another one.

Why would the FED send a red-alert signal to the public? "The system is busted!" It isn't busted. It's being centralized under FED control. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for the FED. It has always wanted this.

So, we lack evidence: a State Department document.

We also lack motivation for a Federal Reserve red alert.

The cost would be tremendous: loss of liquidity and capital market collapse. Why would "green shoots" Bernanke torpedo the stock market rally?

Who would buy Treasury bills? With what? The banks would be closed.

I do not understand the logic of any of this. I have seen no supporting evidence. Zero. World stock markets are ignoring it. There has been no leak of a document.

We need two things: (1) documentary evidence; (2) motive. We have neither.

So, I see no cause. I see the effects as being disastrous for the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury.

There is no description of how this holiday would work. Shutting down ATM's? Killing all credit card transactions? Stopping all commerce? If this happened, the economy would collapse. How would that be good for the large banks? I want detailed answers.

Here is my assumption: If a policy is not good for the large banks, it's not going to be announced or implemented.

    Well, folks, I have to admit that Dr. North has a point here, even though I am always among the first to think the government and the large banks are plotting against us all. In fact, I was downright comforted to think that there won't be an "October Surprise" after all. What a relief.

    Then I received my August, 2009, copy of the McAlvaney Intelligence Advisor, and here's what he has to say:

Be Prepared For An October Surprise

(Or Maybe August, September, or November)

There is a reason why U.S. embassies around the world are being told to accumulate a lot of foreign cash – enough for up to a year! Government insiders seem to be preparing for something big in the not-too-distant future (we don’t know what) but maybe we should be preparing for an “ugly situation” as well. This writer wonders if a “big ugly” could involve martial law inside the U.S. or restrictions on movement of funds out of the U.S. by Americans.

Consider:

• Several months expenses in cash on hand at home.

• A supply of food (3-6 months for your family) on hand, and drinking water (unless you live in the country on a well).

• A small home (fireproof) safe for valuables.

• Enough firearms (i.e., pistol, rifle, shotgun) and ammo to protect your family or home if a social breakdown or explosion of crime should occur. Having friends in local law enforcement could also be helpful in a crisis.

• A small hand-held portable shortwave radio; flashlights; several kerosene lamps and space heaters.

• A small (on a key chain) dispenser of #10 Pepper Spray or Pepper Mace for each female member of your family. (Don’t try to fly with it; it is not permitted on commercial airlines.)

• Up-to-date passports for each member of your family.

    So Mr. McAlvaney also believes we may have an October Surprise. This left me with only one thing to do: Consult Dr. "B" and ask his opinion on this October Surprise business. I reminded him of what he had said about that particular time period, told him what you have just read about Mr. Chapman's statements, along with comments by Shultz, North, and McAlvaney, and asked him what he thought.

    He turned quiet and thoughtful for a few minutes, and stared into space and frowned as he marshalled his thoughts. Then he suddenly pinned me with his gaze and said:

August through October will be a time of building pressures against the common man, and they may suddenly erupt into a cataclysmic outburst of outrage, demonstrated by food riots and possibly some very hard-hit, depressed areas set ablaze by rioters. They will be ventilating their pain.

They have no one to talk to, especially in the governments, local, state, and federal. They talk, but no one really listens. They will eventually do something very dramatic to get the ear of government. By this time, they will not care whether they live or die. They want to inflict as much pain and suffering as they feel has been inflicted on them. This is very dangerous and volatile, because they don't care if they die. They have gone into abject depression. They feel terrible. Their mind and body aches! They are not sleeping well, and they are ready to die, as long as someone else goes with them.

When the masses are starving, it will be like what happened in 1952 to 1991 in China. Fully armed regiments were attacked and overcome by the starving masses and overcome with sharpened hoes, pitchforks, knives, homemade bombs. The masses took their supplies and food and escaped to the mountains, where they lived as guerillas. (See Hungry Ghosts: Mao's Secret Famine by Jasper Becker.)

The tremendous amount of new laws and regulations drove the starving masses into killing frenzies in various areas. This amounted to the following adage:

When unreasonable demands are placed upon reasonable people, you get unreasonable responses.

Look about and notice: A man has taken the highest office that the United States can offer and has passed more stringent regulations that will be interpreted and is beginning to be interpreted, as unreasonable demands on a populace that is beginning to hurt more and more. The fuse has been lit. The time bomb is ticking.

Kong, when you take a man, a reasonable man, and place inordinate demands on him, such as a medical doctor, who busts his tail to save your life, and government regulations proscribe anything but a pittance as payment for his efforts, as is happening in Medicare payments, here, Kong, you take a perfectly logical and rational human being, and as his suffering goes up, and it will, you will turn that man into the leader of a pack. As his pain increases, the amount of suffering he wants to inflict, with the pack, will increase against the powers that be. I see revolution at hand.

Now, as the coming famine increases, you will find people from every walk of life in that man's pack. Who are the members of the pack? They aren't just only the "losers" out there, the dole-getters. They are the John and Mary Does of the corporate world, the business world, the small-business world, and, yes, it is going to even touch the bankers--the untouchables. And serving as flank-protectors of this wolf pack will be the everyday knife-and-fork citizens out there, just trying to eke out a living and a little place in the sun.

If one thinks this is going to be a simple passover, he is misguided. What is coming to America is going to ravage it, and what the citizenry don't ravage, the stars will.

This demands what McAlvaney writes about preparedness. There are laws on the books that will not allow you to have a backyard garden, or a backyard flock of hens. When you push a people too far, with unreasonable demands, they are going to develop unreasonable responses.

There will be confusion, confusion, everywhere confusion.

    Then Dr. "B" lowered his voice and leaned forward and talked to me in a dead-serious manner:

Politicians and their ilk, like bankers and CEOs and the like, will become refugees from the wolf packs. We saw them hiding in their ivory towers and their gated communities recently, when angry people went into those communities looking for them. They were told to dress simply, drive simple, and look simple. Have you heard this somewhere before?

The hardest hit will be the very young, the very old, and the very sick. They will go first, by the harsh regulations the government will be implementing.

But stand firm, for the Great Equalizer is coming from the stars. How important are we, compared to the Universe?

    He admonishes:

Practice GOOD sanitation procedures now. Get your colon up and running with excellent competitive inhibition now. I have discussed this in previous issues.

Much disease is going to strike through the colon. There's no escaping it. In fact, I am seeing much of this now in my current practice. From there, it will go to your joints and various and sundry organs. I will be discussing this in great detail in the August and September Chembio Updates. People should begin practicing the modalities I'll give in the August and September Chembio Update, so they can survive this.
